This project was assigned to CEC as a task order to evaluate the existing curb ramp compliance with the current guidelines, existing sidewalk conditions, and existing curbs along West Broad Street between Hague and Central Avenues, and preparation of construction design documents to replace non-compliant ADA curb ramps, deteriorated sidewalks and curbs.
Work included taking field measurements of all existing curb ramps (cross slopes) and their locations relative to each corner intersection, with visual inspection of the sidewalks and curb lines on both sides of the road. A brief report containing our investigation results and recommendations was prepared and submitted to the City. After reconciliation with the City, CEC performed a field survey for the entire length of the project and prepared construction documents to replace all non-compliant ADA curb ramps, deteriorated sidewalks, curbs, and curb inlets. The project was constructed concurrently with ODOT resurfacing project.
